MPT upgrades LTE+ coverage |
Myanmar Post and Telecommunications (MPT) has extended its LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) to 16 cities across ten states, with plans to expand coverage to more than 30 cities by the end of September this year. MPT’s platform – which it dubs ‘LTE+’ – uses 4×4 multiple-input, multiple-output (4×4 MIMO) technology to provide download speeds of up to 150Mbps. Supporting the expansion programme, MPT has also launched a new introductory bonus, granting new user 1GB of free data when they connect to the 4G network for the first time.

Nepal Telecom converts PSTN to IP network |
In order to provide services like IPTV and video on demand, among others, with the help of IP-based technology, Nepal Telecom (NT) has started switching PSTN (landline) telephone service to IP-based network. With the upgraded technology, the company will be able to provide ADSL Internet service to customers as per the demand. NT will also be able to provide services like IPTV and video on demand, among others, with the help of IP-based technology.
