Mobile satellite services and other satellite capabilities can complement terrestrial networks while serving maritime, logistics, energy, remote locations, emergency communications, enterprise requirements, and data-driven applications. The discussion should identify where Oman can develop commercially relevant activity across this chain, what infrastructure and partnerships are required, and which applications or services can create demand beyond connectivity alone.

The CEO Dialogue brings leading Omani companies into a common discussion on how national digital infrastructure should develop as AI, cloud, data-intensive services, and new enterprise requirements place greater demands on networks and computing infrastructure. Rather than centering the discussion on a single company, the session should examine the roles that major Omani organizations can play individually and collectively in infrastructure development, strategic investment, partnership formation, national capability-building, and commercial execution. This includes the development of Omani technology companies and capabilities alongside physical infrastructure, including stronger routes for locally developed solutions to reach regional markets. The discussion should also address where national players can lead directly and where international technology, capital, or specialist partners are necessary.
Energy Debate - Balancing Energy & National Compute
Data Centers, Sovereign AI, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Infrastructure, and a Muscat Framework for Cross-Infrastructure Sustainability
The final substantive debate brings together two requirements that need to be considered together: the expansion of national compute and the infrastructure required for sovereign AI, and the energy systems needed to support them. Data centers, cloud and compute platforms, networks, and related facilities depend on reliable and commercially viable power, while renewable energy is becoming increasingly relevant to long-term infrastructure planning. The debate should therefore examine how Oman can develop national compute capability while accounting for energy availability, renewable-energy potential, infrastructure planning, cost, demand, and long-term sustainability. It should also consider whether a Muscat Framework can provide a useful basis for aligning digital infrastructure, energy, and sustainability stakeholders around common development priorities.
