Record streaming viewing figures in Poland

The lack of new shows on traditional channels in Poland helped streaming gain a record TV viewing share of 6.9% in July.

This, according to Nielsen’s The Gauge, was up 0.5 percentage points from the previous month.

YouTube was the streaming leader for the third straight month, capturing a record share of 1.9% of TV (up 0.1 percentage point from the previous month). Netflix, by comparison, gained 0.2 percentage points, capturing 1.7% of total TV in July.

Apart from YouTube and Netflix, The Gauge observed a jump in the streaming viewership also of other global OTT platforms like Max and Amazon Prime. However, none of them have yet reached 0.5% share on TV.

The most-watched programmes in July were sports and live music events, as well as news, weather and sport news.
