Telecom Italia's Sparkle unit said it has signed a preliminary agreement with Libyan state-owned telecommunications company Libya Postal Telecommunication and Technology Holding for a new submarine infrastructure connecting Libya to Italy and Europe.
Sparkle, a provider of telecom infrastructure and connectivity services, said late Wednesday that the memorandum of understanding both parties signed also foresees the possibility for it to offer additional services to the Libyan company as well as rights over Sparkle's new BlueMed submarine cable to be examined and detailed in a definitive agreement.
