The Slovak public broadcaster RTVS has changed the operating structure of its third channel, making it a round-the-clock news service named Vysielanie:24 and focused on reporting the war in neighbouring Ukraine.
Commenting on the move, RTVS CEO Jaroslav Reznik said: “Right now, the role of RTVS in informing and reassuring the situation is all the more important, which is why we have embarked on the operational launch of a continuous news broadcast: 24. We want to create a solid and reliable source of information for the public that is accessible to all 24 hours a day and seven days a week”.
RTVS says the channel “will bring live statements by state officials on the current political and security situation. It will also report live in half-hour blocks about what is currently happening, especially in Ukraine, but also in Slovakia.
It adds: “The news circuit will also offer discussions by experts from the ranks of political scientists, sociologists, scientists and, of course, politicians. It will thus contribute to information and give viewers the opportunity to find their way around the amount of publicly available information. Verified and up-to-date reports will also be supplemented by analyses and comments”.
