Azerfon (Nar), Azerbaijan’s third largest mobile network operator (MNO) by subscriptions, has revealed its LTE user base grew by 23% in the first nine months of 2021.
The company attributed the increase to the introduction of new tariffs, the deployment of new 4G base stations in Baku and the regions, and its continuous network optimisation efforts. It noted that 62% of its 4G users are in the capital and 38% in the regions. Nar’s combined 2G/3G/4G network covers 99.9% of the population and 90% of territory via more than 8,780 base stations.
