SDAIA President visits largest digital operations center and applauds partnership with stc

HE Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi, the President of the Saudi Data and AI Authority (“SDAIA”), met Eng. Olayan M. Alwetaid, the stc Group CEO, at the Group’s headquarters in Riyadh in light of the partnership between SDAIA and stc.

The meeting has been attended by HE Dr. Esam Al-Wagait, manager of the national data center, and Dr. Majed Al-Twaijery, the supervisor of the national center of AI in Sadaia.

During the meeting, Alghamdi was briefed on the Digital Operations Control Center (“DOCC”) at stc, and attended a presentation on DOCC’s advanced digital processes in simulation, digital infrastructure management, crisis management and reinvention, enhancing Saudi Arabia's position as a leading regional business hub.

On this occasion, HE Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi appreciated SDAIA’s partnership with stc in several significant national projects which contributes (Allah Willing) in supporting digital enablement of transformation across various public and private sectors in line with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030.

Eng. Olayan M. Alwetaid confirmed that cooperation with SDAIA had resulted in remarkable success in terms of employment of technology and provision of innovative digital services in KSA. He referred to the cooperation between the two sides with regards to Tawakkalna application, whose users are over 21 million and interactions of customer service are more than 4 million since it was launched. Furthermore, Tawakkalna has a customer satisfaction rate of over 90%. Alwetaid further highlighted the cooperation between the two sides concerning the service of Pilgrim’s Smart Bracelet (NUSK), helping pilgrims comply with the precautionary and preventive measures, which had a powerful effect on this year's successful smart pilgrimage experience.

Alwetaid also noted that DOCC would lay the foundation for stc to become a regional hub offering a system of digital services in the Middle East and North Africa. This would help achieve the goals of enabling digital transformation in various fields, benefit from the Kingdom's strategic location at the crossroads of three continents, and promote investments in international connectivity services and data centers to extract the value from the Group's numerous assets and its advanced services and technologies.

DOCC is considered the largest integrated operations control center in the region with an area of more than 42,000 square meters that can accommodate about 2,300 employees. Furthermore, it operates the biggest international gateways in the Middle East and North Africa, which have the capacity of 8.4 terabits per second and are connected to more than 4 submarine cables. DOCC also has the world's latest protection and distribution systems used to generally secure the Company's service system and the data transmission and voice circuits system for all customers. In addition, there are many global content localization systems, making stc's network one of the most active networks in the world in terms of internet provision, especially when it comes to some social media platforms.
