German public broadcaster ARD wants to launch a video platform with newspaper and magazine publishers which is open also to private TV channels, according to a DPA report.
Newspapers can strengthen their reporting with the video of the public broadcasters, said the ARD Chairman Ulrich Wilhelm in an interview with DPA. Wilhelm said the broadcaster supports a common European digital infrastructure that providers active in culture, science, education and media can use to disseminate their content, which would represent an alternative to the platforms of the US tech giants.
