Oi FTTH network reaches 25 cities

Brazilian telecoms operator Oi has extended its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network to a total of 25 cities.

The new network is said to comprise around 350,000km of fibre, and also passes some 2,000 municipalities. ‘Oi Fibra’ services are currently available in the state capitals of Recife, Salvador, Manaus, Fortaleza, Brasilia, Goiania, Porto Alegre and Curitiba, as well as Rio de Janeiro, Angra dos Reis, Campos dos Goytacazes, Duque de Caxias, Sao Joao de Meriti, Niteroi, Sao Goncalo, Petropolis, Cabo Frio, Nilopolis and Teresopolis (all Rio de Janeiro State).

Also covered are Varginha, Montes Claros, Belo Horizonte, Pouso Alegre, Divinopolis and Pocos de Caldas (all Minas Gerai).
