Polish cableco INEA has launched one of the world’s fastest fixed internet services, providing 30,000 households in the city of Poznan with a connection offering symmetrical data rates of up to 10Gbps. The new service, which costs PLN399 (USD107.51) a month, is set to be expanded to cover the entire city and will then be extended to other parts of INEA’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network, utilising technology from Nokia.
Michal Bartkowiak, Chief Operating Officer of INEA, commented: ‘It is worth emphasising that the symmetrical link we offer will allow IT specialists, artists, people involved in video processing or new technologies such as virtual or augmented reality, to work freely at home. From now on, remote work will not be a problem for them. And it is not our last word on this issue yet.’
