Spanish broadband provider Adamo has announced the acquisition of local operator Knet, present in La Rioja, to expand its FTTH coverage to another region. Adamo said it will spend EUR 10 million to buy Knet and reach 50,000 homes in La Rioja over the next 3 years.
Adamo was last year acquired by Swedish private equity group EQT and recently committed to investing over EUR 50 million and creating some 1,100 new jobs to bring 1Gbps FTTH to over 300,000 households in the regions of Navarra, Castilla-La Mancha and Northern Lugo. Last year it also announced a EUR 40 million, 3-year investment to reach underserved localities in the northern region of Cantabria.
