Algeria signed up 34.6 million fixed and mobile Internet subscribers in 2017, up by 21 percent from 2016, APS news agency reported, citing a study from the Regulatory Authority of thPost and Telecommunications. Of the total, 31.46 million are mobile internet users.
Around 90.85 percent of internet expenditure goes for mobile networks. The revenues of fixed and mobile operators in 2017 amounted to DZD 429.4 billion. Algeria is building a national high-speed fiber network to provide better internet services.
