HOOQ, in which Singtel has a stake, features Asian content as well as films and TV series from US studios such as Sony Pictures, Warner Bros, Disney, DreamWorks and Lionsgate. The service joins a range of content providers already on CAST, including Aneka Plus, Asian Plus, Fox+, Variety Plus and Viu Premium.
“Hollywood, Asian and kids’ content are extremely popular with our customers. We are pleased to offer HOOQ’s vast selection in the palm of their hands or comfort of their own homes. We will continue to expand CAST’s content library for our customers’ enjoyment,” said Goh Seow Eng, managing director of Home at Consumer Singapore, Singtel.
HOOQ CEO Peter Bithos added: “We are very excited about our partnership with Singtel and proud to bring Singaporeans more of the latest! Binge now on Supergirl, The Flash and Lucifer before catching the latest season the same day as the US! Soon, HOOQ will be bringing three of Marvel’s latest series – Marvel’s Inhumans, Marvel’s Runaways and Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger – the same day as the US telecast.”
Singtel is offering post-paid customers a three-month trial on HOOQ with a 12-month contract, followed by a monthly fee of S$4.90. Customers opting for a subscription to the video-on-demand (VOD) service without a contract will pay S$7.90 a month.
The new deal also follows a recently announced partnership between Singtel-backed HOOQ and Vodafone India to make the streaming service available to mobile subscribers in India.
