Vodafone has now rolled out super fast 4G internet for customers in the Opunake and coastal Taranaki.
The Kahui Road cell site near Rahotu is the latest in a series of upgrades planned around the Taranaki region that will enable significantly faster online services to more people across New Zealand.
The upgrades are done by fitting new hardware to existing towers and don't require putting in new masts.
"4G offers significantly improved data speeds for our customers, which enables video streaming and the movement of large email files much faster, all of which offers a fantastic customer experience" Vodafone spokesperson Kiri Coughlan said.
