In the Taiwan market, 4G mobile Internet-access services reached an average download speed of 49.44Mbps and an average upload speed of 20.44Mbps in the second quarter of 2016, according to National Communications Commission (NCC).
NCC commissioned the government-sponsored Telecom Technology Center (TTC) to undertake a survey of 4G and 3G Internet speeds around Taiwan in the second quarter.
Due to increases in the number of 4G base stations, use of CA (carrier aggregation) technology, and the opening of 2,600MHz frequency bands to 4G operations, average 4G download and upload speeds significantly rose in the second quarter.
