Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in a significant Rs 15,000 crore deal to roll out a 4G network across India. This collaboration is set to enhance mobile internet connectivity, especially in rural areas, and is a step towards bridging the digital divide.
The deal includes setting up extensive data centres and aims to provide high-speed 4G connectivity to over 1,000 villages. It's also part of the groundwork for future 5G capabilities, with TCS and BSNL focusing on expanding their reach by installing 4G services at an additional 1 lakh sites, targeting a full-scale rollout by August 2024.
This initiative is expected to revolutionize mobile internet speeds for users in India and foster greater digital inclusion and economic development across the country.
