On the sidelines of GSR-26, the Office of the Commissioner of Electronic Communications and Postal Regulation of Cyprus (OCECPR) and the Georgian National Communications Commission (ComCom) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of digital regulation.
The agreement reflects the shared commitment of both authorities to closer collaboration in areas including:
• Cybersecurity
• Artificial Intelligence governance
• Infrastructure resilience
• Consumer protection
• Regulatory best practices• Digital transformation
Deputy Commissioner of Communications Petros Galides stated:
“Strong digital ecosystems are built not only through infrastructure, but through trusted partnerships.”
Mr Galides further emphasised that regulators best positioned for future success are those capable of cooperating and adapting faster than technology evolves.
The MoU marks an important step in expanding Cyprus’ international regulatory partnerships and enhancing practical cooperation across Europe and neighbouring regions.
