Algerie Telecom teams up with housing agency to bring fibre to new builds

Algérie Télécom (AT) and the National Agency for Housing Improvement and Development (AADL) have signed a framework agreement aimed at connecting AADL sites to the internet via fiber optics even before their distribution to citizens, AT announced in a statement.

The framework agreement, signed in the presence of Algérie Télécom’s CEO, Adel Bentoumi, and AADL’s CEO, Fouad Mokrani, primarily aims to “enhance the living environment in AADL sites by providing access to fiber optic internet and connecting them even before their distribution to citizens.”

It also aims to “connect all urban centers under construction, as well as future projects, to high-speed and very high-speed internet.”

The agreement will also help “accelerate the launch of commercial activities in AADL sites by providing them with high-speed and very high-speed connections, thus promoting local economic development.”

“This strategic collaboration demonstrates Algérie Télécom’s continued commitment to providing quality services and supporting the socio-economic development of the country,” the statement emphasized.

The signing of this framework agreement marks a significant step towards bridging the digital divide and improving access to high-speed internet in Algeria, particularly in residential areas. By prioritizing internet connectivity in AADL sites, Algérie Télécom and AADL are not only enhancing the quality of life for citizens but also laying the groundwork for economic growth and innovation in these communities.

Under the agreement, Algérie Télécom will undertake the necessary infrastructure development to ensure reliable and high-speed internet connectivity in AADL sites, while AADL will provide the necessary support and cooperation to facilitate the implementation of these initiatives.
