Zain has announced its return as a strategic partner to the International Invention Fair in the Middle East in its 14th edition. The prestigious event, organized by the Kuwait Science Club with support from the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), runs from 4-7 February with the participation of 40 nations, and comes under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah.
Zain joined the event’s inauguration at Arraya Ballroom, attended by the representative of H.H. the Amir, H.E. Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Research Dr. Adel Al Adwani, Kuwait Science Club Chairman and Head of the Fair’s Organizing Committee Talal Al Kharafi, Zain Kuwait Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer Waleed Al Khashti, along with diplomats, academics, and distinguished guests.
Zain is proud to remain a key partner of this prominent scientific gathering since its inception, especially that it is privileged with H.H. the Amir’s patronage every year, something that reflects the nation’s keenness to support scientists, inventors, and innovators, and highlights Kuwait’s leading position in the international scientific community.
Through this participation, Zain aspires to showcase the key role played by Kuwait’s private sector to encourage and promote initiatives that push the scientific innovation wheel locally and regionally. This event’s past successes have greatly contributed to highlighting Kuwait’s rich cultural involvement in scientific areas across regional and international levels, proving itself to become the biggest in the Middle East.
The 14th edition of the fair witnesses notable participation from several GCC and Arab science institutions, including the GCC Patent Office, the King Abdulaziz Foundation, KSA-based Majmaah University, the Qatar Scientific Club, the Emirates Science Club, the International University of Rabat, the Iraqi Inventors and Innovators Society, the Yemen-based Hadramout Foundation of Inventions, as well as first-time participation from the China Association of Inventions and the Russia-based Federal Institute of Industrial Property.
The event also witnesses the return of several previous participants, including the Geneva International Exhibition, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA). During the event, these institutions will present their own awards to winners.
Over 40 nations participate in the International Invention Fair in the Middle East this year, with over 200 inventions submitted. 21 Kuwaiti inventors also submitted 21 inventions representing several local scientific institutions, including Kuwait University, the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), Sabah Al Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity (SACGC) – a center of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), and others.
This event is one of the major specialized exhibitions of inventions in the Middle East region, offering an opportunity for inventions from different cultures to be exhibited and for inventors to build connections with investors. Zain will spare no efforts to offer its support and encouragement to any entity that adopts creativity and innovation within the community and contribute to the further progress of national economy.
