NCSC, Microsoft sign cooperation agreement

Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) CEO and Shaikh Saif bin Hilal Al Hosani, General Manager of Microsoft Bahrain and Oman signed a cooperation agreement in the field of cyber security.

The agreement will support the development of information security sector at the NCSC to counter threats, security loopholes and malware related to Microsoft products and technologies.

The NCSC CEO said that the agreement aims to conduct a warranty and safety assessment on Microsoft products, services and technologies. It also assists in the development of relevant products for secure internal use.

The General Manager of Microsoft stressed the importance of cyber security measures to support the role of technologies in fostering innovation and facilitating communication processes.

He pointed out Microsoft's firm commitment to empowering organisations in the public and private sectors against continuously evolving cyber threats.

Shaikh Saif stressed that this partnership enhances efforts to support cybersecurity capabilities in the kingdom.

During the signing of the agreement, NCSC made a brief presentation on its objectives, tasks and cooperation with various government entities and sectors in the kingdom, to provide a secure cyber infrastructure to combat threats.

Microsoft gave a briefing on the key objectives of the Government Security Programme (GSP), which seeks to ensure information security by providing information about the safety of Microsoft products, services, and technologies.
