iGA showcases Bahrain’s digital transformation to Slovakia

Bahrain’s Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has showcased the kingdom’s digital transformation initiatives at meeting with Slovak Republic’s Spatial Planning and Construction Authority.

Acting Chief Executive and Deputy CE of Electronic Transformation, Dr Zakariya AlKhajah received the Slovak Republic’s Head of Spatial Planning and Construction Authority, Martin Hypky and his delegation on an official visit to Bahrain.

Dr Zakariya welcomed the visitors, adding that such engagements strengthen bilateral relations and facilitate the exchange of expertise in areas such as digital transformation, data accuracy, technology integration, and innovation.

Rapid digital transformation

He highlighted the iGA’s commitment to fulfilling the Bahrain government's vision for rapid digital transformation and investment in advanced technologies. This is in line with the directives of Minister of Interior General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), to continue the iGA’s collaboration with other government entities to enhance public services and improve quality of life for citizens, residents and business owners.

Dr Zakariya and his team showcased Bahrain's digital transformation journey, including the 'Benayat' and ‘Planning’ platforms, which enhanced electronic integration between government operations.

The meeting also discussed 'Sijilat' and the Al-Tajer application, which allow investors to explore the features of Bahrain’s business environment. The Bahrain Open Data Platform (www.data.gov.bh), developed according to the best global practices and United Nations standards for open data, was also showcased.

Concluding the meeting, Dr Zakariya expressed his hope that the discussions would lead to fruitful cooperation between Bahrain and Slovakia, particularly in digital initiatives, for the mutual benefit of both countries.--TradeArabia News Service
