Finland’s Lounea, which is part of Finnet Group, has announced that its fiber optic network now covers move than 500,000 Finns, following continued network expansion throughout 2023.
Moreover, looking ahead the company claims to have made ‘a record number of new fibre-optic construction decisions’ relating to work in 2024. As such, it expects to extend its reach to news areas, while also enhancing coverage in existing locations where it has a presence. With construction work expected to get underway in the spring of 2024, the full list of locations where work is to be carried out is: Oulu, Pori, Vaasa, Tampere, Turku, Jyvaskyla, Seinajoki, Hameenlinna, Joensuu, Lahti, Lappeenranta, Kokkola, Nokia, Kontiolahti, Muurame, Laukaa, Lapua, Ilmajoki, Ylistaro, Eura, Harjavalta, Karkkila, Vihti, Lohja, Lieto, Paimio, Kaarina, Loimaa and Aura.
