Smart Telecom (Smartfren) has entered into an agreement with US-based wireless transport and access solutions developer Aviat Networks to deploy ultra-high speed private wireless indoor and outdoor networks, as well as industry automation services to private networks customers in Indonesia. It is understood that the initiative aims to maximise each parties’ strengths to deliver IoT technology, 4G/5G private networks and ICT solutions to sectors including healthcare (hospitals), agriculture, mining and oil & gas, as well as to smart cities and other ‘vertical industries’.
Smartfren boasts a nationwide mobile network and more than 43,000 base transceiver stations (BTS) in more than 285 cities.
