Robi Axiata said that its ICT subsidiaries, Axentec and RedDot Digital, have signed a deal with Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh (EGCB) to implement an AI-based early fault detection system for its power plants.
Nazmul Alam EGCB’s executive director for planning and design, said Axentec and RedDot's AI-based early fault detection technology will help in reducing power plant downtime.
“The AI solution will directly contribute towards uninterrupted supply of electricity. Thus, the signing marks a significant step toward optimizing operational efficiency and reliability in power generation in Bangladesh,” he said in a statement.
Axentec MD and CEO Adil Hossain Noble remarked that the deal that would be “a milestone achievement” in driving Bangladesh’s power sector towards digitalization.
Axentec officially opened for business last week, offering high-tech digital solutions and services for both the Bangladesh and global market.
Axentec is a spinoff from RedDot Digital, which develops and operates IT and ICT software, applications, and related solutions. Axentec leverages Robi’s connectivity to sell, distribute and market cloud and data centre services to AI, data analytics, blockchain, cyber security, ERP solutions, workplace solutions and IoT.
