Uzbek fixed and mobile network operator Uzbektelecom announced on its website in late December that it has begun the ‘gradual’ introduction of VoLTE technology over its 4G LTE network, offering advantages such as HD sound quality, fast call connection/disconnection with fewer ‘dropouts’, simultaneous usage of 4G mobile internet and 4G voice calling on the user’s phone, and efficiency via optimisation of the use of network resources.
Uzbektelecom said that work on the development of VoLTE technology ‘continues throughout the country’, adding that ‘soon every resident will be able to make voice calls via VoLTE.’
