UK-based CityFibre has confirmed a rollout milestone, with three million premises now classified as being ready for service (RFS) via its fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) network, up from 2.6 million at end-August 2023. Confirming the progress in its network deployment to ISPreview, the company also revealed that its full fibre infrastructure now passes a total of 3.37 million homes and businesses, up from three million four months ago.
Alongside providing an update on coverage levels, CityFibre also confirmed progress on its deployment of XGS-PON technology. In this area, the wholesale operator revealed that 122 of its 131 fibre exchanges have been upgraded to XGS-PON, putting it ahead of a previously stated aim of having 90% of exchanges upgraded by the end of 2023.
