Nar expands network in Nagorno-Karabakh

Azerbaijani cellco Azerfon, operating under the Nar brand, has expanded its network coverage in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The operator announced that it has already built and activated more than 100 base stations in the disputed territory, as part of its ongoing efforts to expand network services across all cities in the region. The deployment of these sites has extended reliable network coverage to subscribers in Shusha, Khankendi, Zangilan, Jabrayil, Gubadli, Kalbajar, Lachin, Khojavand, Fuzuli, Tartar and Aghdam.

Highlighting significant achievements in 2023 in the development of its infrastructure, Nar notes that its combined networks now cover 99.71% of Azerbaijan’s population and 98.5% of the country’s territory. Looking forward to 2024, the operator aims to further strengthen its network infrastructure by deploying additional base stations throughout the country, including various settlements and villages in Nagorno-Karabakh, and to provide a ‘more comprehensive and reliable mobile experience for its subscribers’.
