The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) is running a mobile subscriber verification programme which aims to ensure that operators have accurate and valid information on their customers.
The regulator says that users have until 31 March to carry out the verification procedure with their operator, either online or in person at an authorised dealer. Botswana implemented a mandatory SIM registration scheme in 2008.
