Manx Telecom (MT), the fixed line incumbent on the Isle of Man, has announced that it will launch a new fixed broadband tariff offering downlink speeds of up to 1Gbps next month. According to the operator, its new fibre-based plan – ‘Lightning Fibre Charged Wi-Fi’ – will be marketed with an average downlink speed of 854Mbps and cost GBP137.5 (USD169) per month, while it will come with an ‘enhanced’ router as well as a Wi-Fi EasyMesh extender.
According to MT, the new tariff will complement its existing range of fibre broadband plans which it launched back in June 2022; currently the company’s top-tier plan is advertised as offering an average downlink speed of 443Mbps and a maximum speed of 500Mbps, for GBP100.3 per month.
