ICTISC and SLT sign MoU for ProConnect App

In a significant stride towards enhancing the accessibility and efficiency of skilled services in Sri Lanka, the ICT Industry Skill Council and Sri Lanka Telecom PLC have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for an innovative ProConnect App.

The MoU signing ceremony was held recently, marking a pivotal moment for both organizations. This project is totally supported by the Government of Sri Lanka and Japan.

Officials present at the MoU signing included Chinthaka Wijewickrama, Chairman of ICT Skill Council; Thilina Panduka, Treasurer of ICT Industry Skill Council; Fairooz Habeeb, Council member of ICT Industry Skill Council and Head of Expert Panel of ProConnect App and Sampath Thirimavitharana, Council Member of ICT Skill Council Committee Member for ProConnect App, Prabath Dahanayake, Chief Marketing Officer Sri Lanka Telecom PLC, Rohana Ellawala, Deputy General Manager Sri Lanka Telecom PLC and Dr. Ruwan Recogama, Acting DGM Digital Services and Ruckmani Rathnayake Team Leader, private sector and women empowerment project of the Ministry of Education funded by ADB.

ProConnect App, the focal point of this collaboration, stands as a comprehensive platform connecting skill workers with potential customers. It offers a user-friendly interface for customers seeking services and a seamless channel for skilled professionals such as electricians, plumbers, ICT technicians, PC technicians and beauticians to connect with clientele.

The ProConnect App aims to streamline the process for clients to locate and engage the best-suited skilled workers for their specific requirements. By facilitating efficient communication and accessibility to a diverse array of skilled workers, the platform is set to revolutionize how services are accessed and delivered in Sri Lanka.

With this partnership, the ICT Industry Skill Council and Sri Lanka Telecom PLC are committed to driving digital transformation and empowering both skilled workers and customers in the evolving landscape of service provision. The collaboration endeavors to foster a more interconnected and efficient system, benefitting all stakeholders involved. This initiative was mainly supported by the skills sector development programme under the Ministry of Education, TVET, ADB, People of Japan.
