Malaysia’s CelcomDigi has announced the addition of fiber-to-the-room (FTTR) to its product portfolio, as part of what it terms is its ‘continuous initiative to further enhance customers’ home internet experience and minimise connectivity blind spots’.
CelcomDigi’s FTTR offer is available as an add-on for those customers signed up to one of its fibre-based fixed broadband plans which offer downlink speeds of 300Mbps or higher. Prices for the FTTR service start from MYR60 (USD13) per month and comes with options to boost fibre speeds in up to four rooms in a property. According to the operator, FTTR is able to deliver maximum speeds across customers’ entire residence ‘without intrusive installation’, while CelcomDigi also claims FTTR is future-ready, and designed to accommodate potential speed upgrades beyond 1Gbps.
