brsk secures additional funding to underpin FTTP network rollout

UK-based full fibre provider brsk has announced what it called ‘another milestone in its mission to bring better broadband to underserved areas of the United Kingdom’, after successfully securing an additional GBP156 million (USD199 million) debt investment from funds managed by Ares Management Corporation’s Infrastructure Debt strategy. In a press release, brsk said the funding had been upsized from an initial GBP103 million commitment and now totals GBP259 million. According to the operator, the financing will support its growth and enable it to reach one million premises with its fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) infrastructure by 2026.

Commenting, brsk co-founder Giorgio Iovino said: ‘With support from Ares, our network has grown almost fivefold, we couldn’t be happier working with like-minded financing partners to make it possible. Securing this funding is a significant milestone in clearing the runway for us to take full fibre broadband to one million homes.’

With brsk having launched in West Yorkshire back in 2021, today the company claims its network reaches into three more ‘key urban regions’, namely Manchester, the West Midlands and Lancashire, with approximately 250,000 premises classified as ready for service (RFS), while it has around 14,000 subscriptions on its books.
