Reltime and Nagra forge partnership to deliver super apps for telecom industry

Web3 platform Reltime, and NAGRA, the digital TV division of the Kudelski Group, announced a partnership to enable Super Apps and digital services for Telecom operators worldwide.

The collaboration seeks to drive the digital transformation of Telecom operators globally by providing a suite of consumer-centric services, including mobile wallets, QR codes, peer-to-peer payments, loyalty and rewards management, financial services, and advertising revenue optimization.

Reltime believes that the integration of its Layer-1 blockchain and web3 services into NAGRA’s solutions has the potential to revolutionize Telecom services by creating an interactive, personalized, and immersive environment for users.

The company boasts a Layer 1 Proof-of-Authority blockchain and a range of applications. This includes a non-custodial wallet, support for CBDC, wrapped (digital) assets, and diverse lending and borrowing mechanisms, both collateralized and uncollateralized.

Notably, the platform also supports global transactions, allowing payments to be made across more than 150 countries using various methods like mobile phones, QR codes, email, and more.

Frode van der Laak, Reltime’s Co-Founder and CTO, told Metaverse Post that the company’s SuperApp is “a versatile platform that users can customize to their liking, creating a branded application with functionalities tailored to their needs. Beyond the core services like wallet features, token creation, and global payments, users can integrate additional modules such as digital fiat management, reward systems, and token listings.”

Van der Laak said that both the companies have “already started to co-sell and integrate key components of the web3 platform with the operational infrastructure.”
This means there is direct potential to bring this joint proposition to over 550 Telecom operators globally.

NAGRA’s customers can benefit from the partnership as it offers a wide range of innovative financial and digital services to their customers, both in the business and private markets.

“Our SuperApp platform helps telecom operators to professionally organize all digital services in a highly customizable and modular manner. With our unique “proof of deposit” model, Telecom operators do not need to own a payment institute or banking licenses to bring financial services to markets. Nagra’s customers can drive new revenue streams and reach new digitization levels,” said van der Laak.

Van der Laak said that the official launch of the SuperApp, focused on Telecom operators, is scheduled to launch between September 15 and 18 in Amsterdam.

“We offer our customers and end users a one-stop (SuperApp) solution for their digital financial needs,” van der Laak told Metaverse Post. “From minting assets to global payments, – users benefit from accessing a full range of digital services, all organized in one SuperApp which is itself modular and customizable.”
