Ooredoo Kuwait has announced the launch of 400Mbps residential fiber broadband services via its subsidiary FASTtelco in 42 local areas across six Governorates: Hawalli (13 locations), Ahmadi (ten locations), Mubarak Al Kabeer (nine), Al-Asimah (four), Farwaniya (three) and Al Jahra (three). All areas listed were already covered by fibre access, while Ooredoo declared that the upgrade caters to ‘surging demand for high speed connectivity from customers’.
As previously reported by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, in late May Ooredoo flagged up the development facilitated by upgrades undertaken by the Ministry of Communications (MoC), doubling the telco’s existing 200Mbps fibre access speeds.
