UK-based pure fiber provider Community Fibre has announced that more than one million residential premises in London are now covered by its infrastructure. Further, the company noted that in addition to the residential properties covered by its fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) infrastructure, more than 212,000 businesses in the capital ‘are now within 100 metres of [Community Fibre’s] network footprint’. According to Community Fibre, in the process of reaching the coverage milestone it expanded its network footprint by 75% over the course of the last year.
Graeme Oxby, Chief Executive Officer of Community Fibre, said of the development: ‘As well as advancing our target to reach more Londoners with our 100% full fibre network, we will continue to challenge the industry with our innovative offerings, such as setting new out-of-contract pricing standards, which we have capped at GBP2 [USD3] across all our packages, as well as providing easy access to our social tariff, which unlike most other broadband providers does not ask consumers to provide proof of eligibility criteria.’
