Parana-based fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) operator AXXEL Telecom has extended its network footprint to 127 towns and cities across Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Parana and Goias, after adding connectivity in 73 new municipalities this month. TeleSintese notes that at the beginning of the year the ISP was operational in just twelve locations in Parana. (Note: in September 2022 AXXEL inked a deal with wholesale fibre provider V.tal, which granted it access to infrastructure passing 1.6 million homes in Parana.)
AXXEL’s current footprint includes the capitals of each of the four states: Porto Alegre, Florianopolis, Curitiba and Goiania. A total of 7.1 million homes are passed with fibre, with the company targeting 20 million homes passed in 300 cities by end-2023.
