Tamkeen launches Kawader skills portal for local talents

Bahrain’s Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has launched ‘Kawader’, a national skills portal aimed at jobseekers, business owners and various enterprises to enhance the participation of local talent Bahrain’s economic growth.

Initially focusing on the ICT sector, the national database will help close skills gaps in the market by connecting local talent with job opportunities in Bahrain and potential opportunities through Tamkeen’s Global Ready Talent programme.

Planning is currently under way to expand the scope of the portal to cover other key economic sectors in the future.

Single online platform

Kawader will provide stakeholders with access to local talent skilled in highly in demand ICT specialties through a single online platform, enabling prospective employers to find the skills required to support the continued growth of this high-potential sector.

Maha Mofeez, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, said: “Kawader was launched in response to the growing demand for Tech talent in the market. The portal’s aim is to help match highly-skilled local talent with potential employers looking to fill specialised roles, in particular within the ICT realm, a rapidly growing sector in the Kingdom, which is central to the success of many businesses while also being a key driver of the national economy. Kawader will also help Bahrain’s talented tech professionals build rewarding career paths that utilise their skills, develop their talent, support their professional growth, and empower them to realise their full potential.”

She added: “The new portal is a reflection of Tamkeen’s commitment to enabling Bahrainis to become employees of choice in the labour market, in line with its main objectives. It also comes as part of a range of initiatives designed to address skill gaps in emerging and key economic sectors.”

As a key partner driving economic growth in the kingdom, Tamkeen is hosting this initiative with the aim of supporting the private sector and the labour market. Since inception, Tamkeen has supported thousands of Bahrainis in achieving professional certifications, and as part of its transformation, has introduced 16 new programmes, including the Global Ready Talent Programme which to date has allowed around 60 Bahrainis to train within 12 leading global companies in their international headquarters.-- TradeArabia News Service
