The Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications has today released its governance guide in a bid to enhance the business environment and instil the ethical rules that guarantee mutual trust between institutions and society.
The blueprint which was drawn up by the ministry’s Government Sector Governance Working Group, features the basic principles and rules as stipulated in Edict No. (13) of 2013 regarding the adoption of the government institutions governance guide and the executive programme for its implementation.
Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Mohammed bin Thamer Al Kaabi stressed the importance of governance for setting policies in line with national priorities, defining and achieving the strategic objectives of the ministry, in addition to its effective and positive impact on the institutional management, efficiency and effectiveness.
“These policies will be applied to achieve the optimal use of administrative reforms, through which the visions and objectives stipulated in the Ministry's strategy can be achieved”, he said.
“He underscored the importance of applying and adhering to premium governance practices in terms of legislations, regulations, organizational structure, external and internal control, foundations of disclosure and transparency, ethical principles and governing values.
