Finnish mobile network operator (MNO) DNA Finland has revealed that its 5G network now covers almost 89% of the population. Approximately 4.9 million people across 223 towns and cities now have access to its infrastructure, following rollout in the latest expansion location, Kannonkoski in Central Finland.
Meanwhile, the cellco also confirmed that 5G expansion is currently taking place in the Mantyharju, Mikkeli and Rovaniemi regions; this network development is being carried out by Finnish Shared Network (Suomen Yhteisverkko, SYV), the joint venture company set up by DNA and rival Telia Finland to construct mobile infrastructure in the more sparsely populated northern and eastern parts of the country. The works are expected to be completed by the end of next month.
