Colombian service provider Claro Colombia has teamed up with technology outfit Nagra and consumer electronics giant Samsung to deliver its Claro TV+ streaming offering to Samsung Smart TVs.
The move allows Claro’s TV customers to access the service without the need for a dedicated set-top box.
Claro TV+ is available on Samsung Smart TVs from 2020, 2021 and 2022, with what Claro described as a new experience in viewing and ease of access.
Users can download the Claro TV Key via Samsung’s Tizen platform.
The offering complies with MovieLabs requirements for the protection of 4K Ultra and HDR content, according to Claro.
“We are working with Samsung and Nagra to to enable access to our customers who have this brand of TVs without the need to have additional devices. We are therefore strengthening our proposition as one where customers can watch how and when they want, in a seamless way and without the need to rely on a decoder. Further, to strengthen our offering to deliver the same experiences to our customers from whatever device with an internet connection,” said Rodrigo de Gusmao, executive director, mass market division, Claro Colombia.
