Dutch telecommunications provider VodafoneZiggo has deployed Media Distillery’s EPG Correction Distillery to improve the user experience.
The joint venture between Vodafone Group and Liberty Global has rolled out EPG Correction Distillery to 40 of the service’s TV channels during the first quarter of 2023.
EPG Correction Distillery is designed to resolve the discrepancy between the actual and scheduled EPG start and end times of TV shows that super-aggregators and the broader TV industry often face. By analysing broadcast content in real-time and across multiple channels, EPG Correction Distillery instantly detects the actual start and end times of the programmes and adjusts the EPG margins accordingly.
EPG Correction Distillery is fully integrated into Liberty Global’s next-generation Horizon 4 technology platform. This multi-year agreement with VodafoneZiggo marks the latest roll-out between Liberty Global and Media Distillery, after first partnering together in 2022.
Leo-Geert van den Berg, director fixed network at VodafoneZiggo said: “We always aim to deliver the best possible service, and provide innovative and engaging video experiences to our customers. EPG inaccuracy is one of the most reported complaints from our viewers, and Media Distillery solves this issue. We are excited about the cooperation and look forward to further innovating together in the future.”
