Schools of Kyrgyzstan should be provided with 24,440 computers, Minister of Education and Science Kanybek Imanaliev said at the presentation of the education system reform conceptual framework.
Schools are provided with 49,869 computers, which is 67.1% of the need, he said.
"Supply of educational institutions with laptstops is being resolved as instructed by the Cabinet Chairman. Purchase of computer equipment worth of 50 million soms is planned in the nearest time," Minister Imanaliev said.
"We have signed a contract with Kyrgyztelecom JSC on connection of 2,154 public and 2,060 municipal schools to Internet. 1,822 schools have been connected to fiber optic communication line. The remaining 283 schools await connection," Minister Imanaliev said.
Schools will be provided with necessary computers and connected to Internet in the next 2 years, the Minister said.
