Orange Poland is to begin the phased shutdown of its 3G network in mid-September and is now advising customers with 3G-only handsets and SIM cards to switch to newer devices which support 4G or 5G.
The phased switch-off will start in the districts of Wieruszow, Wielun, Pajeczanski, Zlotow, Pila and Walecki, with work progressing district-by-district until the planned completion by end-2025. 2100MHz spectrum has already been refarmed for 4G and Orange’s 3G base stations now operate solely in the 900MHz range.
