The Tunisian government has unveiled a new project to connect 3,307 educational institutions to fibre-optic networks. The programme, dubbed ‘Edunet 10’ was unveiled by the Ministry of Communication Technologies (Ministere des Technologies de la Communication, MTC) and the Ministry of Education will connect a total of 2,445 primary schools, 847 preparatory schools and 15 other institutions, benefiting a combined total of around 1.5 million students. The project is expected to cost around TND132 million (USD42.1 million) and will be financed by the African Development Bank and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
