Converge ICT Solutions has revealed that its in-deployment pure fiber rollout has reached the island of Boracay and that homes and businesses there will be able to sign up for services by the end of Q1 2023. ‘We’re thrilled to finally arrive in Boracay and share the fruits of our “Go Deep, Go National” strategy. Converge has been working hard to further expand our fibre footprint in the Philippine so we can reach the unserved and underserved,’ said the company’s CFO Jesus C Romero.
As previously reported by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate Converge ICT Solutions, a 66%-owned subsidiary of Comclark Network and Technology Corp in the Philippines, has said its 2023 CAPEX is expected to be below the 2022 guidance of PHP21 billion to PHP23 billion (USD384 million to USD420 million), although it still intends to accelerate its network expansion to cover at least 55% of households by end-2023. The telco’s founder and CEO Dennis Uy was quoted at the time as saying: ‘Definitely, we are on track to reaching 55% of households by 2023, or two years ahead of the target we set during the [initial] public offering. In 2023, we will continue our expansion prudently and make sure to tap key markets in new service areas. North Luzon and Visayas and Mindanao remain to be very strong contributors.’
