Triple Play Brasil has rebranded its Outcenter, Starweb and Webnet brands using the Alares name that it first introduced in November 2022. The switchover took place on 7 February and affects more than 180,000 fixed broadband subscriptions in the states of Sao Paulo, Bahia and Minas Gerais.
Previously, on 17 January the group rebranded its Conecta and Waynet brands as Alares. Going forward, Multiplay, which operates in Fortaleza, and Cabo Telecom, which serves parts of Rio Grande do Norte and Paraiba, will switch to the Alares brand.
According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Triple Play Brasil was acquired by US private equity firm Grain Management in July 2021. The company, which originally used the Conexao Fibra brand, was rebranded as Alares in November 2022. As of 31 December 2022 the group served a total of 502,457 fixed broadband subscriptions, up from 397,074 one year earlier.
