Netflix is adding value to its top-tier package with new audio features and an increase in the number of devices permitted to download for offline viewing.
Subscribers to the £15.99 tier can currently watch in Ultra HD on selected shows and view on up to four devices simultaneously.
The streamer is now bringing in spatial audio, a sound format that creates 360-degree effects. It will be available on 700 of its most-watched titles including Stranger Things, The Watcher, Wednesday, and Knives Out: Glass Onion.
A limited number of titles are available to Netflix basic and mid tiers.
A full list is available by typing spatial audio” into the search bar on Netflix. It already supports 4K, HDR, Dolby Atmos, and its own Netflix Calibrated Mode.
No special equipment is required to receive spatial audio.
The number of download devices is also being extended from four to six.
