KPN has rebooted its TV service with a new offer that combines streaming apps with live TV.
The Dutch operator’s KPN TV+ gives households access to Netflix, Disney and the RTL-backed Videoland. A single search covers both linear and streaming channels.
KPN says the new service will connect to the new generation of TV viewers for who binge-watching Netflix and Videoland is at least as important as zapping between NPO and RTL.
“I am proud that we have brought together the best entertainment that KPN has to offer – which of course includes linear television – in one new product: KPN TV+”, says Jochem de Jong, VP Partnerships, TV & Entertainment KPN .
More than 3.6 million households have access to TV via KPN. “In addition to the millions of satisfied TV viewers, a rapidly growing number of customers are also interested in our entertainment offerings such as Viaplay, HBO Max, Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ or Videoland without having to subscribe to the classic linear television channels. This is now possible thanks to KPN TV+,” says De Jong. “In a time with a huge offer, it’s nice that you can simply switch your services on and off, even your TV channels.”
In addition to the so-called ‘cross-content search’, the ability to easily switch entertainment services on and off, and the ability to easily switch back and forth between streaming and live TV, it is possible to operate KPN TV+ by voice via the remote control.
KPN TV+ is currently available to new KPN internet customers, with existing customers being brought on later.
