Egypt is mulling over joint cooperation with the global telecom cooperation Orange in the communication and information technology sector, the Spokesperson of the Egyptian Presidency Bassam Rady stated recently.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi welcomed Jérôme Hénique, the CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa, highlighting in their meeting that Egypt’s commitment to cooperating with French companies in all fields as development partners in the country.
Under the strategic partnership between Egypt and France, the North African country aims to extend cooperation with Orange in the fields of telecommunication, digital transformation, and development of technological systems to manage buildings, new cities, and mega projects, Rady said.
During the meeting, CEO of Orange Egypt Yasser Shaker said that the comprehensive development project and the major national projects in the country across all fields have been clearly reflected in Egypt’s investment climate, which encouraged Orange to extend investment activities in the country.
Orange Egypt is considering investing in startups and further collaboration in national projects, Shaker noted, adding that Egypt is one of the leading markets in the region in terms of communication and IT.
