Zen Internet now aims to complete nationwide rollout over CityFibre network by end-2023

British ISP Zen Internet has reportedly pushed back the timeline for its introduction of full fibre services across the entirety of CityFibre’s fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) infrastructure, according to ISPreview. Back in March 2022 Zen and CityFibre announced a ‘major expansion’ of their strategic partnership, as part of which Zen said it expected to make its services available to all premises across the existing CityFibre footprint by late 2022.

Now, however, Zen has confirmed that the deployment of its services over CityFibre’s FTTP network – which currently covers some two million homes and businesses – is not expected to be complete until the end of 2023. Commenting on the matter, a Zen spokesperson was cited as saying: ‘Our nationwide rollout of FTTP over the CityFibre network is continuing apace in a phased approach, with 48 out of 59 phase one cities already live. Based on the current speed of rollout, it is expected that connectivity to a further 34 cities as part of our phase two plans will be delivered by the end of 2023.’
